Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to acturum.com, the Acturum browser extension, mobile applications, account features, saved content, AI-generated outputs, and support channels.
Acturum is operated by Sachin Saini in India. For personal data processed to operate Acturum, the operator acts as the data fiduciary or controller as applicable.
Data we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, authentication identifiers, password hash for password accounts, and account settings.
- Saved content: webpage URLs, titles, selected text, notes, and context you deliberately submit.
- Usage records: generated actions, completion status, capture times, daily limits, and content-deletion activity.
- Support information: your name, reply email, category, subject, message, optional page URL, and enquiry reference.
Information processed automatically
Acturum may process basic IP address, browser, device, request, error, security, and deployment-log information required to deliver the service, diagnose failures, enforce limits, and prevent abuse.
How we use data
- Create, authenticate, secure, refresh, and delete accounts.
- Store content you deliberately capture and display it privately to you.
- Extract useful text and generate summaries, tags, priority signals, and action items.
- Operate capture limits, search, dashboards, Today lists, and completion history.
- Respond to technical, account, privacy, feedback, and partnership enquiries.
- Maintain reliability, debug errors, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Acturum does not use saved content for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
Browser extension
The extension does not continuously monitor browsing history. It reads or sends a page URL, title, selected text, or note only after you deliberately use a save action or Acturum context-menu command.
The extension stores Acturum access and refresh tokens in Chrome local extension storage so you can remain signed in. Signing out revokes the current refresh session and removes locally stored Acturum tokens.
AI and service providers
Saved content may be sent to OpenAI for automated summarisation and action generation. Acturum currently relies on Vercel for the web application, Render for APIs and workers, Neon for PostgreSQL, Google for optional sign-in, Chrome Web Store for extension distribution, and Expo or mobile-store infrastructure for supported mobile builds.
Providers receive only information reasonably needed for their service and operate under their own security, contractual, and legal responsibilities. Acturum does not sell personal data.
Storage and retention
Account data and saved content remain while your account is active, unless you delete individual content or permanently delete the account. Account deletion removes owned content, generated actions, and active refresh sessions from the primary database.
Operational logs and contact records may be retained for a reasonable period for reliability, security, enquiry resolution, dispute handling, or legal compliance. Backup copies may remain temporarily until normal backup rotation completes.
Security
Acturum uses HTTPS in production, hashed passwords, authenticated APIs, rotating refresh tokens, scoped content ownership, validation, rate limits, restricted credentials, and infrastructure access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Never submit passwords, one-time codes, API keys, private credentials, financial information, or confidential employer material through captures or the Contact form.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent, information about processing, or grievance resolution. You can also delete saved items, sign out sessions, or permanently delete your account inside supported Acturum applications.
Submit a request through the Contact page and choose “Privacy request.” We may verify your identity before acting.
Children
Acturum is not directed to children. Users below the age at which they may independently consent under applicable law should use the service only with involvement and permission from a parent or lawful guardian.
Changes and contact
This policy may change as Acturum’s products, providers, or legal obligations evolve. The effective and updated dates will be revised, and material changes may also be communicated through the service.
For privacy questions or grievances, use the Contact page or email sachinyashpalsinghsaini@gmail.com.
Send a privacy, account, or legal enquiry directly to the Acturum operator.
